Bangladesh unrest: Air India to renew night flights to Dhaka, one-time waiver provided to passengers

Tata Group-owned Air India has stated it should function its night flights AI237 and AI238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi route on Tuesday and can supply a one-time waiver to passengers for rescheduling flights. On Monday, Air India and IndiGo had cancelled scheduled flights to and from Dhaka with rapid impact because of unrest in Bangladesh after its PM Sheikh Hasina resigned because of anti-government protests. 

“Because of the prevailing state of affairs in Dhaka, Air India is providing a one-time waiver on rescheduling to clients, with confirmed bookings on any Air India flight to and from Dhaka between 4th and seventh August 2024, in the event that they want to take action,” stated Air India in a put up on X (previously Twitter).

Until yesterday, Air India operated two every day flights from Delhi to Dhaka, Vistara flies every day flights from Mumbai and three weekly providers from Delhi to the Bangladesh capital. IndiGo operated flights to Dhaka from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
