Robots ran alongside people on the Yizhuang half-marathon in Beijing on Saturday.
Twenty-one humanoid robots, designed by Chinese language producers, raced alongside 1000’s of runners over a 21km (13-mile) course that included slopes, turns and uneven surfaces.
Some robots accomplished the race, whereas others struggled from the start. One robotic fell on the beginning line and lay flat for a number of minutes earlier than getting up and taking off.
Whereas robots have made appearances at marathons in China previously, that is the primary time they’ve raced in opposition to people over the course of a half-marathon.
